Beware of leakage of dangerous goods contained in plastic containers in high temperature seasons

plastic is widely used to manufacture containers containing corrosive chemicals because of its corrosion resistance, easy processing, beauty, light weight and other advantages. However, plastics are polymer compounds, especially thermoplastic plastic containers, which are easy to soften and deform. At present, it is high temperature season, and this phenomenon is very easy to occur. The author encountered this situation in a recent inspection work

on July 11, a phosphoric acid export company had two batches of phosphoric acid packaged in 20 liter closed plastic cans that needed to be exported. After receiving the inspection application, the company sent the author to the company to identify the use of dangerous packages. During the inspection, samples were first taken according to sn0449. Identification of the use of inspection procedures for packaging inspection of dangerous goods exported by sea. After the samples were inverted for 24 hours, it was found that 80% of the samples had phosphoric acid leakage; After that, the sample was pushed down from a height of about 0.8m. It was found that a few samples had phosphoric acid splashing out from the closed place, and there was still phosphoric acid leakage after the sample was stationary. The international maritime dangerous Code stipulates that the phosphoric acid packaging must meet the requirements of class III packaging, that is, it must pass the leakage test of 20KPa, the hydraulic test of 100KPA, the drop test with a height of 1.16 meters at a temperature of - 18 ℃ and the test of stacking at a temperature of 40 ℃ for 28 days. Quick cutting brass: customers with a thickness of more than 335 can use 20KN (1) 00kn according to the thickness of copper tubes or rods. Therefore, the use identification results of this batch of dangerous packages do not conform to the international maritime dangerous code and are judged as unqualified. After that, the company immediately took remedial measures, went to the packaging production unit to buy back new plastic cans, applied for and qualified according to the same procedure, and then exported smoothly

in the high temperature season, the temperature in the container will reach or even exceed 40 ℃, and the density of phosphoric acid is 1.7g/cm3. Once the plastic tank is deformed, the phosphoric acid will leak out, and the consequences are unimaginable. Although the delivery date was postponed for a week, the hidden danger of the accident was eliminated

The main purchased parts are domestic excellent products

the company exports about 3000 tons of phosphoric acid every year, which are packed in 20 liter closed plastic cans and 200 liter closed plastic barrels. There has never been any leakage of phosphoric acid. How could this happen this time? After careful analysis and contact with the supplier of this batch of plastic cans, let's take a look at the use standard of the universal experimental machine: we know that the tank body was produced in February and the inner cover was produced in June. The high temperature led to the deformation of the barrel mouth and poor matching of the inner cover

therefore, when using plastic to improve battery performance in high temperature seasons, special attention should be paid to the following points:

1. Choose plastic containers produced by packaging enterprises with stable quality and standardized management

2. The enterprise shall conduct a leakage test on the purchased plastic containers, and the qualified test indicates that the sealer has good tightness

3. the obturator must be screwed firmly with a wrench

in addition, when designing the sealer, the plastic container manufacturer should properly deepen the contact part between the barrel mouth and the inner cover, and make it fit closely as much as possible
